Hello Everyone!
Health Everywhere would like to let you know a bit about about World AIDS Day celebrated globally on December 1st. World AIDS Day is an opportunity for individuals around the world to demostrate their solidarity in continuing the fight against HIV/AIDS. World AIDS Day activities act to continue fundraising efforts for research and support programs that benefit people affected by HIV and AIDS around the world, as well as rais awareness, provide education, and challenge prejudices about the disease.
Around the country, schools are advertising for the Give A Day, a campaign that raises money for the Stephen Lewis Foundation and Dignitas International, which fund community-based solutions that address HIV/AIDS in Africa. We encourage you to learn more about the campaign here: http://giveaday.ca
But I'm a student- I don't have a job! Health Everywhere has plenty of Give a Day suggestions for you to show your support:
Give a night: HE is hosting a token night at the Sutherland Bar
Friday November 27th from 8-10 pm.
$5 will get you an AIDS ribbon and cheap drinks.
Proceeds will go to AIDS Saskatoon.
Give a lunch hour: Learn about HIV/AIDS at a Health Everywhere presentation on November 30th at 12:30 in Health Sciences, B450.
Give a little (donate your coffee money for a day)
Donate blood- make an appointment at Canadian Blood Services this month!
Donate your wardrobe- wear red on December 1st to raise awareness about AIDS
Walk the walk: Get tested for STIs, including HIV
